F.lux for Windows

F.lux is a small utility useful for those who spend a lot of time in front of the monitor. Depending on the time of day, the app automatically changes the color scheme of your screen to make it more comfortable for your eyes. Cooler colors are preferred during the day and softer, warmer colors at night. You can set the geographical coordinates and the program will work exactly at night in the given area.

As we know, our eyes are very sensitive to the brightness of the monitor. The brighter the monitor in relation to the background, the harder it is for our eyes to perceive the image on it. But in addition to brightness, color temperature also plays an important role. Probably everyone noticed that at night black text on a bright white background is very disturbing to the eyes, while in the daytime such text is much more comfortable to read. F.lux allows you to smooth out such harshness by reducing the share of blue in the monitor's color spectrum in the evening. At night, the emphasis is put on the warm colors, which are more suitable for artificial lighting. Cool colors are set during the day, as they are more organic to daylight. With this useful feature, the visual strain is greatly reduced.

Offers several simple settings that deal with selecting color limits from 2700 K (definitely warm) to 6500 K (extreme cold value) and the intervals at which the shades will change. You can set the temperature yourself, either by using one of the standard profiles or by setting the parameters manually.
